“ Happy camper(s) reporting from Carlsbad restaurant Campfire - start at the trailhead with apps, gather some kindle for the wood grilled entrees, and roast housemade vanilla marshmallows over your personal cup of smoldering coal. AMBIANCE I love the interior - it's reminiscent of a modern camp cabin with plenty of wood from stacked kindle, wood tables, outdoor communal wood benches, and a fire pit with wood stump/trunk seating. The decorative fletchings (ends of arrows) reminds me of learning archery at the camp, and these little details/embellishments are a delight to see. SERVICE Excellent. Staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. “ Chose this place on the fly to get something different before seeing a movie. We were hungry and needed about four hours prior to our 3D Captain Marvel movie date. We arrived just in time for them to open and serve (the place starts service at 4pm) only to find the restaurant completely booked. Yes, reservations are required. However, they were able to leave some tables open for potential walk-ins like us and we were seated in less than five minutes - now already that went off to a very impressive first start! We were seated at the best non- reserved table, as we overlooked the best action taking place in the kitchen - or should we say the indoor "campfire" pit! Lights, camera... and oh what a culinary show!! We were entertained by efficient chefs, who meticulously moved in sync with each other as the pit lit up periodically with dancing flames that delivered each salivating order with perfectly charred perfection. This place definitely checked all our boxes: Food - check! Service - check! Ambience - check! Price for all that is pretty reasonable. Ya, we went a little overboard with our order - did I mention earlier, we had an appetite with time to kill. Every meal served was do dead yummy delicious!! A must try is their roasted broccoli - we could have just ordered that alone 5x over and would have been satisfied. Among our orders, my boyfriend's order (Ricotta Cavatelli) was my favorite, while my order (Market Fish) was just as good. We shared dessert which was the Pot de Creme. Our fabulous servers Sonia and Sky were awesome, as they explained the ingredients for each dish delivered fresh to our table. It couldn't have been a better start to our evening. Thanks Campfire! Oh ya, we're coming back! ”
“ Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 Fun place. Worth a stop. Perfectly cooked steak in a fire pit ”
“ Beautiful restaurant, vibrant atmosphere and great service. The food was mostly good, though some items disappointing (esp for the price). Best dish hands down is their broccoli. My husband doesn't usually like broccoli but left feeling like the $18 price tag was justified. Corn bread also very good. The $90 steak is not worth it. Other dishes have beautiful presentation but just ok. Sea bass a bit overcooked. The desserts (baked Alaska and pot de crème) were the biggest disappointments. Cocktails are yummy! ”
“ Campfire is a trendy, hipster spot with a down to earth, rustic and welcoming vibe. The food is locally sourced and the preparation is all oriented around grilling or other campfire oriented preparation. We had olives and ahi crudo from the Kindling section, the famous broccoli (it was good but tbh with all the rave reviews, we expected the brocolli to dance for us), and grilled chicken and cavatelli "from the hearth". And the smoked oysters - these oysters were BY FAR the standout of the meal. They were the best oysters I have ever experienced!! I will be going back to sit at the bar to have a cocktail and a ridiculous number of those oysters! The smoke was a fantastic match to the briny oyster flavor - a perfect complement, not overwhelming at all. It was surprisingly busy on a Sunday evening, we had to take an early time to get in but it was so worth it! Allie was our wait person, she asked us to put in our whole order at the start so they can plan out the grill time. She promised they would time things so we were not rushed and they delivered on that. ”
“ If I can give more than 5 stars- I would! Campfire was such an amazing experience that my taste buds were not prepared for! We did one from each. For Trailhead we had Porridge Bread which was so yummy. For Kindling, we had Crudo and Broccoli. Let me tell you, the flavor of the Broccoli is something I haven't tasted before! It's so hard to pinpoint the harmony of flavors because it's so delicious and it takes fine dining to a whole other level. From The Fire, we had ordered Ricotta Cavatelli, Octopus, Chicken, and Pork! Service was great and our server was sweet! The ambiance is pretty loud as it has a large seating area with many groups. Just FYI! So delicious I have no other words. It's worth it to come here. ”
“ TL;DR: GOAT. Campfire is unparalleled quality, service, and experience. From beginning to end, the dining experience was great - so amazing! Came for a birthday meal - make sure you make a reservation. With 8+ in our party, we went with the "FEAST" option :D I wish I had time to type out everything I loved about the meal but I'd probably run out of characters. The MVP is the broccoli. Let's be real. This broccoli isn't even a real broccoli - it's f*%&ing DEEEEELICIOUS Cheers Campfire - imma be back ASAP! ”
“ The food was amazing, but the service was even better. Our server was attentive and our water cups were always almost always filled. The highlight was the broccoli. It is more filling than you expect. I don't suggest the addition of the potatoes unless you love cheese. Definitely a lot of it. The whole restaurant was themed like a high class camping area. Water is poured from Yeti pitchers and the chairs resemble camping chairs. ”
“ We had a wonderful experience here from start to finish. We came here on a Thursday night and it was packed! We parked in the back and got lucky with a spot. The hostesses at the front were really friendly and helpful. We didn't have a reservation and we were seated within 15 minutes at the communal high top tables. Our server was SO nice and extremely helpful with the different items on the menu, and checked on us regularly. We ordered oysters and cornbread to start. Oysters were delicious and I'm not one to usually order them. The cornbread was amazing! Loved the orange zest on top, so unique and worked so well. We got the carrot and the rib eye with cast iron potato side to share for our entrees, all was delicious and presented so beautifully! Honestly, Michelin star worthy with the unique and delicious combination of flavors. We finished with the s'mores dessert and oh my, they actually bring hot coals for you to toast your marshmallow (which was so fluffy and seemed homemade), and make your own s'more with the chocolate and graham cracker. So good and the perfect end to the meal. It's expensive but it's more than just about the food, it's also the experience! It's a perfect date night spot if you want to splurge or if you're celebrating a special event. Highly recommend! ”
“ Food: Michelin Rated, for many reasons... I will forever be dreaming about their well-known Roasted Broccoli. This broccoli is something I have never had before. It's crispy, crunchy and yet very airy and melts in your mouth, with its smooth citrus, perfectly seasoned blend of flavors. OMG, it's soooo good! My family and I came in on a Friday night. Lucky for us, they had the perfect table located on their patio near the fire pit. It was the perfect ambiance for our first time visit, which definitely left a good taste in my mouth. I think what gives this place a perfect 5 stars is not only the ambiance, but the wait service is on point and the food divine. With every bite, the dish just got more and more exceptional. You can tell they put a lot of thought and love with the food served here. If you plan on visiting the area and end up eating here, I hiiiighly recommend making a reservation. Legit 5 stars! ”
